СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø College art education students designed lovely Christmas ornaments for sale in early December.

Arrowheads, angels, crosses and stockings are expected to be some of the hottest items on sale at СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø College. The event on the Clinton campus comes just in time for Christmas.

MC art education students are producing some of these holiday gems on sale at the university’s cafeteria December 2-6.

The Art СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø’s ornaments sale is open to the public.

Students are taking their time glazing a variety of items that remained in the kiln in early November.

Proceeds from the sale will help СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø College students attend an art education national conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2020.

Art education professor Stephanie Busbea is helping oversee the project. Stopping by the holiday event is a must for Central СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø bargain hunters. The ornaments sell for $7 each.

Hours of the sale are 11-1 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday on decorated tables in the cafeteria. Hours on Friday December 6 are 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Shoppers should make a note on their calendars. The ornament sale at the Christian university always arrives the week after Thanksgiving.

Senior art education majors Emma Peck, Vashti Graham and Katelyn Sanson are making plans to attend the National Art Education Association in March. They’re inviting all СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøans to shop for some of the best stocking stuffers around.

For shoppers, the 10th annual ornament sale is a terrific way to avoid the mad rush and traffic jams in metro Jackson as Christmas nears.

Over the years, the students’ ornaments depicted the Magnolia State, Santa Claus, manger scenes and much more. There were deer and angel designs, too, Busbea said.

NAEA conferences offer a smorgasbord of more than 1,000 workshops, seminars and learning opportunities for students and educators across the USA.
