SES Coordinator, Faculty Development Director join MC’s Teacher Education and Leadership faculty

Kadijah Kinds and Wesley Wilson have joined the СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø College faculty as assistant professors in the Teacher Education and Leadership СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø.

A pair of seasoned education experts have joined the СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø College faculty as assistant professors in the Teacher Education and Leadership СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø.

Kadijah Kinds, instructional supervisor and Supplemental Educational СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøs coordinator for Imagine Learning, and Wesley Wilson, faculty development director at the University of СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Medical Center, have joined MC’s School of Education.

Jennifer Stafford, professor and chair of TEL, said the new additions will bolster the University’s mission.

“Dr. Kadijah Kinds received an E.D.D. from the City University of Seattle in educational leadership, an M.Ed. from Delta State University in special education, and a B.S. from the СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø University for Women in elementary education,” Stafford said. “She recently left Liberty University, where she served as an adjunct faculty member, and Imagine Learning, were she served as an instructional supervisor. Dr. Kinds holds licenses in special education and elementary education. She and her husband have two children.

“Dr. Welsey Wilson received an E.D.D. in educational leadership from Belhaven University, an E.D.S. in educational administration and supervision from Delta State University, an M.Ed. in secondary education from СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø College, and a B.S. in political science from MC. He recently left UMMC, where he served as faculty development director and instructional designer and lecturer at the University of СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø School of Medicine. Dr. Wilson holds licenses in social studies and career and technical areas. He and his wife have one daughter.”

Kinds began her career as a special education teacher and coordinated professional learning communities in DeSoto County Schools. She has served as an adjunct reading professor for Southwest Tennessee Community College and as a virtual special education case manager for Tennessee Connections Academy.

An active member of the СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Educators Association and the National Educators Association, Kinds received the СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Teacher Fellowship Program Scholarship from the СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø of Education and the Director of Community Outreach Scholarship from the MUW Student Government Association.

Wilson has served as a museum associate at the СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Agriculture and Forestry Museum in Jackson, a legal assistant at Barnes Law Firm in Flowood, and a field associate for Americans for Prosperity in Jackson. He gained educational experience as a substitute teacher in the Rankin County School District and as a world history and video production teacher in Madison County Schools.

A certified diversity and inclusion champion at UMMC, he served on several institutional committees and was chair of the Evaluation and Assessment Subcommittee. He has given seven presentations at professional meetings and conferences in Tennessee and СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø.
