Continental Tire, FedEx, and the U.S. Navy are among nearly 30 employers signed up for СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø College’s Virtual Career Fair.

The October 14 event will put job-seeking MC students in touch with prospective employers that Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Current MC students and recent graduates (within the past four years) are encouraged to participate.

The MC Office of Career СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøs is the event sponsor. Going to a virtual program format is one of many adjustments that institutions worldwide are making during a global health crisis.

Office of Career СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøs Associate Director Taylor Ormon is working hard to make the new activity a success.

In recent weeks, Orman has stayed busy lining up employers, and she is working on getting the word out to students on the Clinton campus.

“We will be doing social media marketing as well as several giveaways and engage student participation,” Ormon said Wednesday.

The Office of Career СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøs sponsors an in-person Career Day every February attracting more than 80 employers from СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø and other Southern states.

A similar event staged at Anderson Hall could happen again in Spring 2021.

“We are hoping to do an in-person Career Day in March,” Ormon said.

Other employers booked for the 2020 Virtual Career Fair include Trustmark, the University of СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Medical Center, Community Bank, FDIC, May CPA, Waffle House and the СÖíÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Baptist Foundation. Representatives from school districts in Madison County, Lauderdale County and Hattiesburg are among the officials signed up.
